Opening for Daimh! October 11, Ballard Homestead

In an EXTREMELY exciting turn of events, I’ll be opening for Daimh at their October 11th Ballard Homestead show! This is going to be a great night.

From their website: “Daimh, Gaelic Supergroup and un-challenged champions of straight in the eye Highland music are based around West Lochaber and the Isle of Skye... Recent accolades include last year’s award for the ‘Best Folk Band in Europe’ at the prestigious Folkherbst competition in Germany and most recently winner of ‘Folk Band of the Year’ at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards.”

Doors open at 7, show at 7:30! (I’ll play a 25-minute or so set before the main event.) More info (and tickets) can be found on the EventBrite page.

Skagit Valley Highland Games 2019

Hi folks! I know this level of procrastination is extreme even for me ? but what can I say? Life has been, well, a little extreme lately. However late, I’m thrilled to announce that I will once again be performing at the harp tent at the Skagit Valley Highland Games this weekend! I’ve got the same time slot as before (bring it on, pipers!)

Details:

2019 Folklife Festival!

I'm excited to announce that I will be performing at the 2019 Northwest Folklife Festival at Seattle Center! I'll be part of a showcase called "Enchanting Strings", and they've partnered me (coincidentally) with my dear friend, autoharp maven and frequent collaborator Cathy Britell!

Performance details:

Monday, May 27th, 11:40am-12:10pm

Folklife Underground Cafe

(a new venue, located directly South of the Cornish Playhouse Theatre. My communication from NW Folklife advises me to keep in mind that Key Arena redevelopment has made substantial changes to Seattle Center grounds. This construction has affected this year’s Northwest Folklife Festival layout, as they had to remove and rearrange several venues.)

My solo set starts at 11:40, but if you come early you can catch Cathy's set at 11:00am too! 'Harps galore!

Hope to see you there,

Molly

2018 SKAGIT VALLEY HIGHLAND GAMES

Yes, it's true, I'll be playing again at the Harp Tent at the 2018 Skagit Valley Highland Games! Same bat time, same bat channel...1:05 pm on Saturday, July 14th. (I think this time the bagpipe demo doesn't start until 1:30, but WE'LL BE READY FOR THEM.) Come on down, hear some music, watch some sheepdogs doing their thing, watch burly dudes in kilts throw things! Fun times. (For more info on the Games--like, you know, where they are, etc.--visit www.celticarts.org.)

I got yer CDs right here! :)

Hi folks,

It's a lovely drizzly Seattle day, and I'm ensconced on the couch with a bottomless cup of tea and some toasted Amarelo Bread (hey, what is a blog good for if you can't shamelessly promote your friends from time to time?). In search of a productive task that doesn't involve actually getting up, I finally updated my album page to allow direct sales of both the physical Maid on the Shore CD and the album download. (You can still purchase the album from your favorite online merchants as well: Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby).

One extra perk: if you buy the CD directly from me, I can autograph it for you before sending it out! Sweet!

Cheers,

Molly
